If you’re looking to take your storyboarding skills to the next level, then Karl Gnass’ class is just what you need.
Whether you’re an aspiring storyboard artist or a seasoned pro looking to improve your skills, this class is designed to challenge and inspire you. You will learn the principles of story and visual storytelling for television and feature animation in this course. With a comprehensive understanding of how story works, you will have a solid foundation for great visual storytelling.
You will produce two original storyboards in this course. Assignments stress structure, continuity, pacing, cinematic view, staging, character motive, gag structure and character, etc. Remember that this is a live interactive course. Karl will personally review your storyboards and will provide feedback. Be prepared to work for it!
You may use whatever medium you’re comfortable with, but keep in mind that storyboards currently are created in a digital format.

Karl Gnass
Animation industry veteran for over 40 years, Karl has been a figure drawing instructor for major studios including Disney Feature and Animation, Dreamworks Feature and Animation, the Animation Guild, and many more. He has storyboarded feature animations for studios including Disney’s Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles, and Aladdin Prince of Thieves to name a few.
Su Jen Buchheim
Karl is teaching this class with Su Jen, a sketch artist and storyboard artist who has worked both in advertising and animation. She has boarded for Bento Box, Fox’s animated show Housebroken and Central Park. She is currently working for Disney TV Animation storyboarding Hamster and Gretel.

STUDENT PREREQUISITES:
–Have a comfortable understanding of perspective
–Be able to construct visual layouts
–Must be able to draw characters comfortably out of your head

STEP 3: KARL WILL REVIEW YOUR SAMPLES AND WILL GET BACK TO YOU
Karl will review your work and will let you know if you can proceed to purchase one of the limited class spots for this class. After acceptance, Karl will send you a special link by email for making the class purchase. Then you will have a period of 24 hours to purchase the class and you will receive the Confirmation and Zoom link and codes for the class.
